Jed LeRoy Black

Jed LeRoy Black Sept. 1, 1960 – Feb. 27, 2024

Jed LeRoy Black was born on September 1, 1960, in Beloit, Kansas, to Lowell DeWayne and Gloria Black.

He spent his childhood years on the farm.

He graduated from Beloit High School in 1978.

He furthered his studies in farm mechanics at Beloit Vo-Tech and graduated in 1980. Jed was handy in the shop and took pride in working on his machinery.

Jed acquired many unique collectibles over the years, his favorites being 895 Versatile tractors, bronze bells, and wood-burning stoves.

Nicknames were his specialty, and every person he loved had one. Jed loved to make chili with his cauldron and has made countless gallons of homemade ice cream with his John Deere hit-and-miss engines.

Jed felt blessed that his sons, Brayden and Bryce, chose to work alongside him on the family farm.

Jed married Jolinda Pohlman on December 4, 2004, and gained a daughter, Molly. Two years later, Maddie made their family complete. Raising Molly and Maddie included a lot of laughs, teasing and ice cream. In his later years, he cherished spending time with his mother, Gloria. He loved his children & grandchildren most in this world and spent long hours in the field & shop to provide for his family.

Jed is preceded in death by his father, Lowell DeWayne.

Jed is survived by his mother, Gloria Black; his wife, Jolinda Black; children, Brayden Black, Bryce (Aubrey) Black, Maddie Black of Beloit, and Molly (Cole) Brown of Hutchinson, Kansas, and his beloved grandsons, Misha Brown, and Jensen Black.
