Family life presents ‘The Art of Marriage’

BELOIT – ‘The Art of Marriage’ program will be presented from 7-9:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 and again from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15 at the Beloit First Christian Church. VFW Post 6242 will serve Sunday breakfast

BELOIT – The VFW Post 6242 will be serving breakfast 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 19, at the VFW home 102 E. South street, Beloit. Hash browns, scrambled eggs, sausage, Belgian waffles, biscuits and gravy, fruit, coffee and juice will be served with donations, that will be used for Post projects (Patriot Pens, Angel Tree projects, Christmas dinner, etc.)

Rotary Chili Day tickets now available

BELOIT – Tickets for the Rotary Club Annual Chili Day are now available for purchase at the Guaranty State Bank and First Bank of Beloit. Tickets are $5 in advance, $7 at the door and $8 for delivery service. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, January 18 at the Beloit Municipal Building.

Glen Elder American Legion sell raffle tickets

GLEN ELDER – The Glen Elder American Legion Post 143 is selling raffle tickets for a hog, including standard processing. Two winners will be chosen (each winner receives half of a hog) on Feb. 1 at their Groundhog Day Pancake Feed from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from any Legion member or contact Rick Gruwell at 545-6499 for more information.

BELOIT – The Pet Connection Tie-Dye Taco Tuesday will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at the Down Under Brewery in Beloit with an all you eat Taco Bar $8 donation (kids under 12 eat for free). Xaris Waltman will provide live entertainment and kids activities will be held. Spicy Margarita’s and tie-dye items are also for sale. Kids under the age of 12 years old eat for free.

SV Hospice Silent Auction/Wine tasting

BELOIT – Solomon Valley Hospice will host a Silent Auction/ Wine Tasting benefit event from 7-10 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1. at the Down Under Brewery. Proceeds will go to hospice to assist with providing care to patients and families in the service area. Bidding will start at 7 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. For more information contact the office at 785-738- 9260.

Beloit Trojan Cards now

available at the Beloit Call

BELOIT – The new 2020 Beloit Trojan Cards are now available for purchase at the Beloit Call Office, 119 E. Main. The cards provide numerous savings from local businesses for the cost of $10 a card, with all proceeds going towards the Beloit High School track teams.

Solomon Valley Hospice

cookbooks for sale

BELOIT – The Solomon Valley Hospice are selling cookbooks. The books contains recipes from family members of patients, family and friends of hospice. They are $12 per cookbook or two for $20 and can be purchased at the hospice office, 311 W. Main, Beloit or by calling 785-738-9260.

BELOIT — Friendship Meals will be held on Monday, January 13 by the Friendship Dinner Team. It will consist of Potato Bar with all the trimmings, Green Beans, Mandarin Oranges and Cake. Serving is from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall at the corner of Bell and 8th street in Beloit. A free will donation is welcome.
