Woods earns prestigious Meritorious Service Award

BELOIT – Aliesa Woods, 4-H Youth Development Agent and District Director in the Post Rock Extension District, was recently recognized with the prestigious Meritorious Service Award sponsored by the Kansas Association of Extension 4-H Agents.

The Meritorious Service Award is awarded annually to an agent who is actively engaged in Extension 4-H youth programs and who has over 15 years’ experience in Extension youth programs.

Woods is a tremendous asset to K-State Research and Extension. Serving as the Post Rock District 4-H Youth Development Agent for 18 years, she has provided a positive experience for numerous youth in her program. She has great insights and always brings a positive and fresh perspective to whatever tasks she is working on. As her role within her local District has evolved over time to include the District Director Position she continues to keep her passion for 4-H alive and coordinate her program along with three 4-H Program Coordinators.

"I believe youth development professionals are responsible for empowering young people to be true leaders in their local communities," says Woods.

She will represent Kansas at the National meeting in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia in November.
