“Swoop Scoop”podcast

BELOIT - On Monday, Feb. 6, 2023, the St. John’s Catholic High School sophomore Business Marketing and Communications class visited Caleb Bowers’ MotorCo Studio in downtown Beloit, above the Beloit GMC business on East Main, to record a soundtrack and some audio clips for the school’s new weekly “Swoop Scoop” podcast. Ukulele in hand, Claire Hicks recorded an intro she composed called the “Epic like Track,” while the entire class laid down several verses of “Fishing in the Dark,” by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Bowers patiently and enthusiastically gave them a crash course in using professional hardware and software for producing audio tracks. You can catch some of the sounds from this extraordinary recording session on upcoming episodes of “Swoop Scoop,” which covers the news from St. John’s and drops every Friday afternoon on Spotify.
