“Alli and I will be performing at Kettle from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21 for a matinee show.” Alli and I started when Andrew Standley and his guitar “Alli” stood on a corner in Lincoln, Neb. and sang at the historical Haymarket. It’s been 15 years since that date and two albums and lots of tours. Alli and I have been described as melodic punk, laid-back rock, mixed with a little acoustic folk. He’s on a country-wide tour and making Beloit one of his special stops.

NWS issues Hazardous Weather Outlook

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for today (Wednesday), for Phillips, Smith, Jewell, Rooks, Osborne, and Mitchell counties, as Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect. Wind gusts of around 30 mph are likely through Thursday with a snow accumulation of 1-2 inches and ice accumulation being the biggest concern, as this mornings rain is forecast to turn into freezing rain before 2 p.m. There is a 20 percent chance of snow again on Friday and a 30 percent chance on Saturday with temperatures in the high 30’s.
