Throughout the year, they personally contribute to the community contribution fund, which First National Bank and Trust then matches. Community Foundations make local impact on youth

MANHATTAN - Pawnee Mental Health has received grants from two Kansas community foundations. Republic County Community Foundation, Belleville; and Washington County Community Foundation, Washington, each awarded grants to Pawnee to support the efforts of the newly established Youth Respite House in Concordia, Kansas, The respite house serves children and families in Cloud, Jewell, Mitchell, Republic, and Washington counties, Respite services offer short-term support for primary caregivers to those youth, ages 4 through 17, with Serious Emotional Disturbances (SED). The respite house offers a home-style atmosphere with full furnishings and entertainment for daytime and overnight use. This service includes experienced Pawnee Mental Health staff members having ongoing oversight of the youth in their respite care while engaging them in sporting activities, arts and crafts, games, cooking, or other activities based on the age and needs of the youth.

Beloit Water Treatment Plant meeting set

City Manager, Jason Rabe, announced during Wednesday’s City Council meeting, that a public meeting is scheduled for the next council meeting on Jan. 18. The topic of the gathering will be the Water Treatment Plant and the Pipeline from Waconda Lake. Topics for the meeting will include the status of the completion of these two projects, how much money had been spent to date, how much more will need to be expended to complete the project, and a summary of the project to date.
