Seniors invited to compete in Rural Voices contest

BELOIT — High school seniors in North Central Kansas are invited to compete for a chance to win $850 by submitting an entry in the 2021-2022 Rural Voices Youth Contest. The North Central Regional Planning Commission (NCRPC), Beloit, Kansas, sponsors the contest and has awarded more than $26,000 to high school seniors from around the region since 2006.

Ambulance purchase with ARPA funds cleared

Keegan Bailey from the Regional Planning Commission was present to report on the suitability of ARPA grant funds during Monday’ s Mitchell County Commissioners meeting, with which to purchase a new ambulance. After her thorough research of the documentation pertaining to what can and what cannot be purchased with ARPA funds, Bailey reported that because ambulance traffic increased significantly due to COVID, the purchase of an ambulance using ARPA funds was justified. She gave the commissioners the green light to purchase a new ambulance using grant funds.
