EMS to use ARPA funds for ambulance purchase

The cost of emergency medical response was highlighted at the Mitchell County Commissioners meeting on Monday morning, Oct. 4, as Eric Hamel, Emergency Medical Services Director, presented two bids for a new ambulance to keep the current fleet of vehicles ready for immediate response to any medical emergency in the county. It was the consensus of all in attendance at the meeting, that when an ambulance is needed, it is needed immediately. “Later on,” or “after a while” could be fatal.
