MCHS to host memorial event

BELOIT – As part of the memorial for John Spellman, 12 members of the Denver Police museum will be coming to Beloit on Saturday, September 11, 2021 to host a ceremony in conjunction with Beloit’s Millapalooza event. A memorial ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. at St. John’s Cemetery in conjunction with the Beloit Boy Scouts. At 11 a.m. in downtown Beloit, the Denver police captain and delegates will give the history about John Spellman, JR., presenting a flag that was flown at the United State Capital in John’s honor to the city of Beloit. Following this 30 minute program a plaque will be taken to Chautauqua Park where it will be dedicated. Along with the assembly, there will be a 1930 Ford Police car in attendance. Please check into our facebook page as the event gets closer or call the Beloit Chamber of Commerce for full listing of events that weekend.
