Flood Mapping Project open house, July 21

BELOIT – Officials from the DWR, engineering contractor Wood Environment & Infrastructure, and Mitchell County officials will be on hand at a come and go Open House from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, in the Beloit Municipal Building Sutter Room to answer questions from the community and take any comments about the current Flood Mapping Project and how this may affect their home/business owners insurance policies. Computer workstations will be available to show the draft mapping as it pertains to individuals property.

Prayer & Action

Nearly 75 high school youth are working in Beloit to complete service projects during July as they take part in the Prayer and Action project. The summer missions program provided by the Catholic Diocese of Salina help residents with scraping and painting homes, cleaning windows, and various yard work projects such as shown to the left. Cowboy style!

The Mitchell County Fair 4-H clubs start off their projects on Tuesday with the Judging of the Clothing Construction and Fiber Arts Judging of Fashion Revue Construction and Buymanship on Tuesday at the Beloit First Christian Church.
