MANHATTAN – Fluctuating commodity prices, weather challenges and other factors mean farmers are used to a certain amount of stress. But the pandemic in the past year added that much more, according to a Kansas State University behavioral health specialist.

BELOIT – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for today (Friday) for Phillips, Smith, Jewell, Rooks, Osborne, and Mitchell counties in north central Kansas and portions of the south central Nebraska for possible thunderstorms.
A Cereal Malt Beverage license application for 7-Stars, LLC. was discussed during Monday's Mitchell County Commissioners meeting. This business is operating as Norman’s Lakeside Convenience Store just north of the lake park entrance. The application was approved.
BELOIT – Keighlee Armstrong of Beloit Jr./Sr. High School has been recognized by Kansas Governor Laura Kelly as a 2021 Kansas Governor’s Scholar. Typically, students receiving this recognition are invited by the Governor to an awards program held in Topeka. But due to continuing public health precautions, the 2021 Governor’s Scholars are being recognized via an on-demand virtual program which can be found at www.kshsaa.org/Public/Videos/GovernorScholarsVirtualProgram.mp4. Students have also received a congratulatory letter from Governor Kelly and a certificate marking this distinguished accomplishment.
