Water treatment plant building plans in progress

City Manager Jason Rabe told the council, during Wednesday's City Council meeting, that the work on the water treatment plant has progressed to the point where the footprint of the building has been established. The building will have four walls and a roof. They now must determine exactly what equipment and machinery will be placed inside those four walls, the work that will be performed by that equipment, and the cost and/or quality of the equipment. This work will greatly impact the cost of the plant.

WGU launches scholarship in National Nurses Week

CONCORDIA – In recognition of the dedication exhibited by area nurses throughout the past year, Western Governors University (WGU) is celebrating National Nurses Week – which runs from May 6 through May 12 – with a new Nurses Appreciation Scholarship for nurses and other healthcare workers who are interested in furthering their education. The fully online, nonprofit university is offering $200,000 in scholarships to new students wishing to pursue a CCNE-accredited BSN or MSN degree, or a bachelor’s or master’s degree from WGU in specialties that include healthcare management, health information management and more.
