Stuart Porter, County Engineer, was present at Monday mornings City Council meeting, to discuss the proposed work on the Causeway road. He said the grant application had been submitted accompanied by many letters of support and that public support is an important aspect of consideration for the project.
BELOIT – Both St. John's Catholic and Beloit school students took part in the Arbor Day Celebration held on Thursday, April 22, Earth Day, provided by the Beloit Parks and Recreation. Lakeside and Tipton events were celebrated on Friday.
Andy Niemcyzk, the head wrestling coach at Beloit, was chosen as the Salina Regional Coach of the Month for April. The Trojans took seventh at the 3-2-1A Tournament in February.

BELOIT – The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for a Red Flag Warning for today (Monday) for near critical to critical fire weather conditions expected this afternoon and evening. This is issued for Phillips, Smith, Jewell, Rooks, Osborne, Mitchell counties as well as portions of south central Kansas.
