NCK CASA request budget increase
Chelsey Wilson, the new Executive Director of the North Central Kansas CASA program in Concordia was present for her yearly visit, during Monday mornings Mitchell County Commissioners meeting. The CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers are people appointed by judges to serve as advocates for children involved in cases where they are abuse victims. Established in 1994, NCK CASA is part of a national program that recruits, trains and supports community volunteers to advocate for abused and neglected children and speak up for their best interest. Once CASA volunteers are trained, they are appointed by a judge to a child's case. With staff support, CASAs are able to make a difference in the lives of children in the communities they serve.
