BELOIT - According to the National Weather Service several advisories have been issued for today and throughout the weekend, A Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for today (Friday), for Phillips, Smith, Jewell, Rooks, Osborne, and Mitchell counties and south central portions of Nebraska for near-critical fire weather conditions.
Beloit City Manager Jason Rabe updated the council on several ongoing projects during Wednesday’s City Council meeting.
After last weeks out of control Jamestown Wildfire, this Cloud County burning of CRP ground made several neighbors nervous to the west in Mitchell County, Drought conditions continue with much needed rain and sparks can easily ignite to wildfire situations as the wind blows such as it did during this fire on Monday night, south of Beloit. Extreme wind gusts were also present on Tuesday. Mitchell County is now in. a Hazardous Weather Outlook for today (Wednesday) as a chance for strong to severe thunderstorms and near critical fire weather conditions possible.
