Max Eberle, 92, Glen Elder

GLEN ELDER – Max L. Eberle was born March 29, 1928 to Oscar and Hettie Eberle of Glen Elder, Kansas. Max passed away September 26, 2020 at Resident Care Center at the age of 92 years. He graduated from Glen Elder High School in 1946.

Max married Marjorie Weidenhaft on July 25, 1948. They were both members of the Glen Elder Christian Church. He was a member of the Glen Elder Masonic Lodge and of the Glen Elder volunteer Fire Department.

Max was a farmer the majority of his life along with being a manager at the Hardman’s Lumber Company for many years. In later years, he drove the bus for Pawnee Mental Health. He enjoyed keeping score at high school games along with being a member of the chain gang at the high school football games. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cards and coffee time with family and friends.

Survivors include sister Marge Schultz of Osborne, Kansas; son Ron (Linda) Eberle and daughter Sherri Linton of Glen Elder, Kansas; Grandchildren Lisa Totten (Eric), Travis (Mary) Eberle, Tara (Mark) Bergmann, Tiffany (Brad) Schroeder and Trevor (Sarah) Linton; 14 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law’s Bernita Eberle and Dorotha Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marj; parents, Oscar and Hettie; brother Bill; brother-in-law’s Ray Briney, Willis (Bud) Johnston, and Calvin Schultz.

Memorial services will be at 10 AM Wednesday, September 30 at the Glen Elder First Christian Church. Cremation has been chosen. Friends may sign the register book from 9 AM to 5 PM Tuesday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation. Roberts Family Funeral Services, Beloit, is in charge of arrangements.
