DOWNS – Allen Edwin Fisher, 83, of Downs, Kan., passed away July 24, 2022, after a two and a half year battle with cancer. He was born March 14, 1939, to Nora (Ahlvers) and Edwin Fisher on their farm in Glen Elder, Kan.
SALINA (formerly Beloit) – Lila Lee Mitchell, 90, passed away on July 31, 2022, at Legacy of Salina, Kansas.
EMPORIA – Friends & family are invited to join the family of Cheryl Prager, age 67 of Emporia, for remembrance at Noon on Thursday, July 28 at the Friends Church in Glen Elder. Ms. Prager died Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the Holiday Resort in Emporia. Cremation has taken place. Roberts Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
BELOIT – Carolyn Kirgis Johnson passed away July 24, 2022 at the Phillips County Hospital after suffering for decades with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born August 8, 1960 in Beloit, KS, the daughter of Robert & Doris (Aronis) Kirgis.
DOWNS – Leon Earl Kuhn, 70, of Downs, Kansas, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 24, 2022 at his home. Leon was born January 4, 1952 to Remigius and Roberta Kuhn in Russell Kansas. Leon grew up and attended school in Hays, Kansas. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Leon received his associate degree from Barton County Community College. He worked in the oilfield for more than 30 years. Leon enjoyed golfing, fishing and riding his Harley.
