Marlene Dalrymple, 79, Cawker City

CAWKER CITY – Memorial services for Marlene Dalrymple, age 79 of Cawker City, will be at 10 AM Saturday, February 26 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home in Beloit. Mrs. Dalrymple died Monday, February 21, 2022 at her home. Survivors include husband Roger Ives; children, Joe Senger, John Senger, Jerry Senger, Jay Senger, Connie Ives, & Tina Malek; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Jacqueline Sorensen & Carole Treiber; & brother, Jerry Schettler. Friends may sign the register book from 1-5 PM Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 9 AM until the service begins on Saturday. Memorials may be given to the Family to be designated at a later date, in care of Joe Senger, PO Box 3, Glen Elder, KS 67446. Roberts Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Larry Ray Meitler, 74, Sylvan Grove

SYLVAN GROVE - Larry Ray Meitler, 74, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 in Sylvan Grove, Kansas.He was born April 29, 1947 in Gooding, Idaho to Raymond and Sadie Meitler, the third of ten children. After graduating high school in 1965 from Sylvan Grove High School, he joined the US Air Force in 1967 stationed at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado and was later honorably discharged in 1970 as a Sergeant. During his service in the Air Force, he married LaDonna Klaus and they have three children Sheila, Gary and Kevin. They then moved to Sylvan Grove, Kansas where the majority of his life was spent working for Lincoln County Highway Department as a Road Maintenance Operator and later County Road Supervisor for 43 years. He was also Town Marshall and served as Mayor of Sylvan Grove for 17 years. He was involved helping with community day leading the turtle and frog races and the pickle eating contest. He enjoyed baking his “ famous” brownies, working auctions, demolition derbies, playing cards, attending school activities, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Larry never knew a stranger and would make friends with everyone he met.
