Monitor ponds for Blue Green Algae

Blue green algae blooms are an issue that usually gets discussed this time of year. Calm, sunny, dry, and hot days of summer create ideal conditions for blue green algae to thrive in our livestock ponds. Blue green algae occurrence is sporadic making its threat unpredictable. Despite its name, these blooms are not algae, but a cyanobacteria. Some of these cyanobacteria produce and release dangerous toxins that are of major concern for our livestock.

Love is the answer.......

Dear Annie:I just read your Father's Day column, and I am here to say you are SO right! My husband (a well-beloved teacher) passed away in 2016, and shortly after that, he visited me in a dream. He wrapped me up in his arms and ecstatically exclaimed, "The answer is love!" He was so happy. I will never forget it. I am not really into this sort of thing, but it has stuck with me ever since, and reading your column just brought it all back! Thank you! Maybe someone needed to hear it. -- Wife of Beloved Teacher

Not getting what I give

Dear Annie: I've always been the one who puts everyone first. I always do my best to make sure that when it's my kids' or husband's birthday, I decorate the living room and dining room for them. I spend months searching for that special gift, finding that thing that they didn't know they wanted. I make sure whatever I make for food that day is something the birthday person loves. I do everything that I can think of to make that person feel special.

Disapproval might be a dealbreaker

Dear Annie: I was in an abusive relationship for over seven years, still legally married but separated with a four-year restraining order. I have been with my current boyfriend for over three years. The first two years we lived together, and then COVID-19 struck, and we have been living apart for over a year.
