BELOIT 5-0 FOR HISTORIC SES TOURNAMENT WIN

BELOIT - The Beloit Lady Trojans made history on Saturday as they won the Southeast of Saline volleyball tournament Championship for the first time.

Beloit played like a well oiled machine with all the gears running as they stacked the stats in the tournament on a perfect 5-0 day. After totaling 164 team assists, 163 kills, 81 blocks, 29 stuffs, 259 digs, 170 serve receives, 143 points and 26 ace serves, the Lady Trojans claimed the number one title.

In five games, freshman Makenzie Travis and junior Jessica Meier teamed up on setting up the plays with 88 and 69 assists, respectively.

Junior Shea Larson held strong at the net with 59 kills, 14 blocks and 5 stuffs. junior Hanna Pearson executed 33 kills,15 blocks, 5 stuffs; senior Sydney Barrett 22 kills, 20 blocks, 7 stuffs; junior Paige Goddard 20 kills, 7 blocks, 2 kills; Meier 14 kills, 7 blocks, 2 stuffs; senior Trinity Wagner 11 kills, 3 blocks, 2 stuffs; Travis 4 kills, 15 blocks, 6 stuffs.

Meier led the team on scoring with 33 points, 8 ace serves; Travis 31 points, 3 ace; senior Breezy Schroeder 26 points, 3 ace; senior Karson Brown 21 points, 1 ace; Larson 17 points, 6 ace; Barrett 13 points, 4 ace; Pearson 2 points, 1 ace.

Schroeder was a powerhouse on the floor totaling 81 digs and 45 serve receives. Travis followed with 63 digs, 26 receives; Barrett 41digs, 42 receives; Brown 31 digs, 39 receives; Meier 23 digs, 18 receives; Larson 19 digs.

Beloit opened the day with a win over Southeast of Saline in two sets of 25-13 and 25-18.

Leading from behind the line was Meier scoring 9 points with 3 ace serves followed by Travis with 5 points,1 ace; Schroeder 3 points, 1 ace; Barrett 3 points; Pearson 2 points, 2 ace; Larson 2 points, 1 ace.

Larson started strong at net attacking for 14 kills. Goddard totaled 8 kills, Pearson 7; Barrett 5; Meier 2; Travis 1.

Travis led on assists with 17 and Meier 14.

Schroeder was once again a powerhouse, executing 23 digs; Karson Brown and Barrett 8 apiece; Travis 7; Larson 4.

Leading on serve receives was Schroeder and Barrett with 9 apiece; Meier 6; Brown 3; Travis 2.

The Lady Trojans picked up their second win of the day over Abilene in two sets of 25-20 and 25-9.

Meier led on scoring with 8 points, 1 ace followed by Travis 6 points; Schroeder 5 points; Barrett 2 points, 1 ace; Larson 1 point, 1 ace.

Larson held strong at the net with 11 kills, 3 blocks, 1 stuff. Pearson executed 5 kills, 7 blocks, 3 stuffs; Trinity Wagner 5 kills, 2 blocks, 2 stuffs; Meier 5 kills, 2 blocks, 1 stuff; Barrett 4 kills, 4 blocks, 1 stuff; Travis 1 kill, 5 blocks.

Travis and Meier led the team on setting up the plays with 15 and 14 apiece respectively.

Schroeder led on digs with 15 followed by Barrett with 11; Meier 9; Travis 8; Larson 5; Brown 4; Pearson 1.

Leading on serve receives was Schroeder and Barrett with 6 apiece; Brown and Meier 5 each; Travis 4.

It took Beloit three sets to win over Abilene after their first 25-27 loss, but they overcame and defeated the Lady Cowgirls 27-25 and 25-13.

Meiers held the lead in scoring with 12 points, 2 ace serves followed by Schroeder 9 points, 1 ace; Travis 9 points; Brown 8 points; Barrett 3 points; Larson 2 points.

Larson once again attacked the net for 14 kills, 5 blocks and 1 stuff followed by Pearson with 10 kills, 5 blocks. Barrett totaled 6 kills, 3 blocks, 4 stuffs; Wagner 6 kills, 1 block; Meier 1 kill, 1 block; Travis 5 blocks.

Travis and Meier teamed up once again with 17 and 14 assists respectively.

Schroeder owned the floor again with 16 digs and 12 reserves; Barrett 9 digs, 10 serve receves; Travis 7 digs, 12 serve receives; Brown 5 digs, 11 receives; Meier 3 digs, 4 receives; Larson 3 digs.

The Lady Trojans advanced into the championship game after defeating Salina South in two sets of 25-16 and 25-18.

Brown led the team from behind the line scoring 7 points followed by Schroeder 5 points, 1 ace serve; Travis 4 points; Barrett 3 points, 2 ace; Larson 3 points, 1 ace; Meier 1 ace.

Larson one again led at the net with 9 kills, 5 blocks followed by Pearson 8 kills; Goddard 4 kills, 4 blocks; Meier 4 kills, 1 block, 1 stuff; Travis 2 kills, 3 blocks, 1 stuff; Barrett 7 blocks.

Meier led on assists with 14; Travis 13.

Schroeder led the floor on digs with 11 and added 8 serve receives followed by Brown 8 digs, 12 receives; Barrett 7 digs, 9 receives; Travis 3 digs, 5 receives; Larson 3 digs; Meier 2 digs.

Beloit defeated Abilene for the championship tournament win in two sets of 25-19 and 25-17.

Larson led the team on scoring with 9 points and 2 ace serves followed by Travis 7 points, 2 ace; Brown 6 points, 1 ace; Meier 4 points, 1 ace; Schroeder 4 points; Barrett 2 points, 1 ace.

Larson held strong leading at the net as well with 11 kills, 1 block, 3 stuffs followed by Goddard 8 kills, 3 blocks, 2 stuffs; Barrett 7 kills, 6 blocks, 2 stuffs; Pearson 3 kills, 3 blocks, 2 stuffs; Meier 2 kills, 3 blocks.

Travis and Meier led Beloit on setting up the plays with 13 apiece.

Schroeder led the floor with 16 digs, 10 serve receives; Meier 9 digs, 3 receives; Travis 7 digs, 3 receives; Brown and Barrett 6 digs, 8 receives; Larson 4 digs.

Beloit traveled to Minneapolis on Tuesday and will travel to Belleville to play in the Republic County tournament on Saturday.
