Beloit Hornets advance in State competition
CONCORDIA - The Beloit Hornets defeated the Beloit Royals in the Pee Wee District Tournaments, 13-9, to advance into the 59th Kansas Pee Wee State Tournaments July 20-24 in Concordia as earned District Champions.
The Beloit Hornets District 1 Champions saw their first action on Tuesday at State as they defeated District 2 Waconda 8-5 to advance. They will now face the District 2 Champion Smith Center team at 7 p.m. on Meyer Field in the semi-finals in Concordia.
The District 4 Champion Washington team defeated District 1 Runner-Up Concordia Chevy-Buick 13-3 to advance into Thursday's game.
District 3 Champions Concordia Lions defeated District 4 third place Belleville, 3-0 to advance into Thursday's game against Washington with an 8:30 p.m. pitch.
Championship games will take place at 8:30 p.m. at Meyer Field on Friday. Third place games at 7 p.m.
