K-18 Twin Lakes Beloit Red over Blue by five
BELOIT - The K-18 Twin Lakes Beloit Red defeated Beloit Blue in seven innings 19-14 on Monday, July 6 and are now 2-3 on the season. Beloit Blue are 0-5 after their 9-4 loss to Smith Center on Thursday, July 2. Smith Center leads the four team standings as they are undefeated at 5-0. Waconda follow at 3-2 after their 14-2 win over Beloit Red on July 2 and their 8-0 loss to Smith Center on Monday.
Beloit Red took the early first inning lead 4-0 as Wesley Adolph hit a fielder's choice. Blue added two runs for the only score in the second inning and the game was tied up at 5-5 in the third inning as they outscored 2-1.
Blue added one run in the fifth inning but the Red team bats were on fire adding 10 runs over Blues 6 for the 15-11 lead. Cameron Konkel's sac fly scored in two of Red's runs.
Both teams scored one run in the top of the sixth inning as Logan Arasmith grounded out, scoring one run for the Reds. He then threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for the Blue.
Beloit Red scored 3-2 in the final inning for the 19-14 win.
Arasmith took the win at the pitchers mound for the Red team, allowing two hits and six runs over three innings, and striking out three. Konkel threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Beisner took the loss for the Blue team, allowing five hits and 10 runs over one inning and striking out two.
Kaden Lomax started on the mound for Beloit Red pitching for three innings, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out two.
Beloit Red scored on 11 hits as Konkel, Ben Thompson, Abe Staples, Demetrius Dunigan and Adolph each collected multiple hits. Adolph, Dunigan, Staples, Thompson and Konkel all held two hits for the team.
Beloit Blue totaled eight hits as Beisner and Brody Schroeder had multiple hits for Beloit Blue. The team stole six bases during the game as two players stole more than one with Eilert leading the way.

Beloit Blue traveled to Glen Elder to face Waconda
Regional Tournament action will begin in Beloit for July 14-15 and the 17-18 with July 19 as a rainout date. All will advance to state as four teams will advance.
The State tournament will be held in Lucas on July 25-26 and July 29.
