Lady Jays volleyball add one win/one loss

BELOIT – The Lady Jays are now 16-8 on the season after an added win over Lincoln and a close game to Russell with the loss.

St. John's/Tipton will now travel to Kensington on Tuesday to face Thunder Ridge and Tescott.

"We have had to fight through some injuries and new people on the court, but we are coming together at the right time," said Coach Stacy Perez.

The Lady Jays won over Lincoln in three best sets of 25-22; 25-19 and 25-19.

Leading the team on scoring was Lauren Schmitt with 17 points, 2 ace serves; Jenna Gengler 16 points, 1 ace; Lauren Ellenz 12 points, 2 ace; Lauryn Dubbert 10 points, 1 ace; Ella Wiles 10 points; Paige Hollerich 7 points.

Wiles led at the net with 10 kills, 2 blocks; Dubbert 4 kills, 1 block; Schmitt 3 kills; Rachel Gengler and Ellenz 2 kills each.

Leading on the floor was Dubbert with 9 digs; 12 serve receives; Schmitt 7 digs, 7 receives; Hollerich 7 digs; Anna Towner 6 digs; 3 receives; Wiles 5 digs, 5 receives; Ellenz 5 digs; 4 receives; Rachel Gengler 1 dig.

Hollerich set up the plays with 18 assists; Dubbert 2.

The Lady Jays fell to Russell in three best sets of 15- 25; 23-25 and 26-28.

Leading the floor was Wiles with 14 digs, 7 serve receives; Dubbert 12 digs, 18 receives; Towner 8 digs, 3 receives; Jones 8 digs, 11 receives; Schmitt 6 digs, 5 receives; Hollerich 4 digs; Ellenz 2 digs, 3 receives; Jenna Gengler 2 digs.
