TOPEKA – Beloit High School sophomore Casey Seyfert received All-State honors in the Topeka-Capital All-State Class 2A football team as a Offensive Lineman. Receiving Honorable Mention honors include: Sophomore Benson Berndt as a Running Back.
The Lady Blujays faced off against the Southern Cloud Warriors in Beloit on Friday night. The Warriors managed to maintain a close game but the Blujays were able to pull away for a hard fought 49-29 victory.
The Beloit Lady Trojans opened up their season to Ellsworth after patiently awaiting as this was the first contest available to begin the season after fighting Covid-19 issues with an original starting date of Dec. 4.
The Beloit boys opened their season to Southeast of Saline on Friday after having to cancel their Ellsworth opener and four previous games due to Covid-19 that were set to begin on Dec. 4. The Trojans lost to Southeast 68-31 and are now 0-1 to open the season and are set to play tonight (Monday) in Riley County with a 6:30 p.m. varsity start.
St. John’s/Tipton boys faced off against Rock Hills in Mankato on Thursday in district play. The Blujays had the advantage of a preseason tournament to prepare as the Grizzlies were playing their first game of the season.
