BELLEVILLE – The Beloit Ladies volleyball team won the Republic County tournament Championship on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2023 playing undefeated on the day at 5-0 and are now 19-2 on the season.
CLAY CENTER – The Beloit High School Lady Trojans Tennis team competed at Clay Center on Saturday, Sept. 16 and placed third as a team with 15 points. Chapman won the tournament with 38 points followed by Clay Center in second with 28 points. Others competing were Abilene 14 points; Alma-Wabunsee 11; Sacred Heart 10; Concordia 8; Clay Center JV 1.

BELLEVILLE -- The Beloit Trojans defeated the Republic County Buffaloes, 56-8, Friday night, for their first win of the season. With the win, Beloit improves to 1-2 overall and in the league. Next Friday, the Trojans will host Russell at 7 p.m. in their district opener. The Broncos are 2-1. Following the opening kickoff, the Trojans started their initial possession at their 47-yard line. Two offsides penalties against the defense gave Beloit a first down at the Republic County 43. Two plays later, sophomore Joel Rexroat ran 11 yards for a first down at the Republic County 25. Two plays after that, junior Jennings Sloan completed the drive with an 11-yard touchdown run. Rexroat ran for the twopoint conversion; the Trojans led, 8-0, a minute and a half into the contest. The ensuing kickoff by junior Alex Laflen was recovered at the Buffaloes' 37. The Beloit defense stopped Austin Scrivner for a loss of a yard two consecutive plays.
