Lorenz earns Junior Olympic medals and All-American honors

Autumn Lorenz competed at the USATF Junior Olympics that were held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, on July 24 through July 30. She competed in the 15-16 year old girls’ division, and competed in the 200m dash, the long jump and the javelin. Below: Lorenz placed 8th in the javelin throwing 105’10”, which earned her a spot on the podium with All-American honors. Below right: She, and her coach and dad Chad, also participated in the opening ceremonies which allowed them both to walk on the historic Hayward Field track. To be able to participate in in the Junior Olympics Autumn had to first qualify in the USATF Missouri Valley Assocation meet that was held in Kansas City, Missouri, and then the USATF Region 9 meet that was held in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Above right: where she earned two silver medals in the Javelin and the long jump (right). After being surprised by her parents in April of 2020, with a visit to train with three time Oympian javelin thrower, Kara Winger, Below right: Autumn was surprised once again with a visit during her time in Oregon.
