LEONARDVILLE - The St. John's Blujays Cross Country teams travelled to Leonardville on Saturday, October 24 to participate in the Class 1A Regional hosted by Riley County High School. Two other 1A Regionals were ran on Saturday; one in Tribune and the other in Buhler.
NORTON - The Beloit Trojan cross-country team had a good showing Saturday as they competed at the Norton Regional Cross-Country meet, one of six held in the state. Runners were presented with unusually cold and breezy conditions for an opportunity to advance to the state meet held at Wamego next week. Schools competing included host Norton, Colby, Goodland, TMP, Marion, Hoisington, Phillipsburg, Minneapolis and Russell. The top two teams and top ten individuals in both the girls and boys race earned a spot to the state meet.
The Beloit High School marching and pep band played during their last regular season home game against Minneapolis on Oct. Oct. 16. The Trojans will now travel to Hoisington tonight for a 7 p.m. kickoff. Sharon Sahlfeld photos
BELLEVILLE – The Beloit volleyball team is now 21-10 overall and undefeated as NCAA League Champs at 10-0 after adding two wins over Republic County on Tuesday.
TESCOTT – The St. John's/Tipton Lady Jays made it out of pool play during the Northern Plains League tournament on Saturday after losing a close game to Sylvan/ Lucas and falling short to Lakeside. After a loss to Thunder Ridge the Lady Jays took the last three teams to three and will now advance to Sub-state on Saturday in Linn at 20-12. In tournament play, they ended the day with a 18- 12 record.
