Jon Bingesser earned a bronze medal in the triple jump during the 2022 National Senior Games on May 10-19, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Over 10,000 participants competed in 19 different sporting events including 1500 in the Track and Field category. Bingesser competed in the 80-84 age group with the following results: Triple Jump - 3rd, 20’ 3.50” ; Long Jump - 6th, 9’ 2.75” ; Javelin - 7th place, 82’ 9” ; Discus - 8th, 80’ 6” ; 50 meters- 9th, 10’ ; Shot put - 10th, 30’ 8.25” ; Hammer - 10th, 54’ 2” .
LIBERTY, MO. – Meeka Jordan competed in the Windsteppers Paster Donald D. Ford Developmental Meet in Liberty Missouri Saturday, May 21, at William Jewell College, Greene Stadium. There were over 60 teams with athletes ages from 4 to 18 from Kansas and Missouri attending the meet. Jordan earned a gold in the turbo javelin with a distance of 50 feet. She also captured a gold medal in the shot put with a distance of 14 feet 3.5 inches. Jordan will be travel to Cincinnati Ohio for a Speed Capital National meet Saturday and Sunday and compete in Kansas City Monday on the way home.
WICHITA – The American Conference Track and field championships were held in Wichita, Ks. May 12-15. Two St. John’ s High School alumni, Davis Dubbert and Brady Palen, participated and scored big points in helping the team with a surprise victory over perennial power and five time defending champion Houston.
GREAT BEND – The Beloit Trojans baseball season ended at 8-8 on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, in Great Bend during their second round game of Regionals.
