Beloit girls win 2025 3A State team Championship

Seyfert wins double performance championships with new shot put state record

The Beloit girls 3A track team went undefeated on the season, winning all of their track meets, the Regional Championship title and added the State Championship title, after competing at the KSHSAA State Championships on May 30-31, at Cessna Stadium in Wichita. They won by a 25 point spread to the second place team of Hesston.

A total of 344 of 355 KSHSAA member schools sent at least one athlete to State Track, with 3,987 athletes competing at the 2025 State track meet, for a total of 305 races, 158 preliminaries, and 147 finals. Around 47 meet records were broken at the largest high school track and field meet in the country.

Senior standout, Tatum Seyfert, delivered a double-gold performance in the throws. Seyfert  is a two time State Champion in the discus after winning in the 2025 State Track and Field competition at Cessna Stadium in Wichita. She threw 147’ 7”. She then threw 46’ 4.25” in the shot put for the 2025 Championship and she broke her previous state meet record of 45’ 11.25”. Seyfert will now continue her track and field journey at Oklahoma State University next season.

Beloit added several more Top 3 finishes:

Dakota Gray – 3rd in the 100m hurdles

Sophia Thompson – 3rd in high jump

Brecken Boudreaux – 3rd in long jump

Bently Pruitt – 3rd in pole vault

Autumn Lorenz – 2nd in javelin

Senior, Addison Budke, placed second in the shot put with a throw of 42’ 2.75” for a State silver medal. She placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 127’.

Junior, Autumn Lorenz,  placed second for a State silver medal in the javelin with a throw of 135’ 8”. Freshman, Kaelyn Boss of Osage City won the event at 136’ 11”

Junior, Brecken Boudreaux, placed third for a State Bronze medal in the long jump with a distance of 17’ 8.75”. Senior, Kaylee Hagerman, of Larned won the championship at 18’ 4.50”.

Senior, Sophia Thompson, of Beloit, placed third In the high jump with a clearing of 5’ 4”. Freshman, Reece Franklin of Frontenac, won the championship at 5’ 8”.

Junior, Dakota Gray, placed third in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.63. Senior, Keely Hoback of Burlington won the championship at 14.22.

Three Beloit girls placed on the podium in the pole vault event. Bently Pruitt placed third in the pole vault with a clearing of 10’ 6”. Ashlyn Loomis placed fourth at 10’, and Zayda Purvis placed eighth at 9’ 6”. Ashley Lehman won the championship with a clearing of 12’ 4”.   

Three Beloit ladies took their places on the State podium in the discus competition, with Tatum Seyfert named as Champion. Senior, Samantha Thompson placed sixth with a throw of 128’ 6”, and Cassandra Thompson placed eighth in the discus with a throw of 122’ 11”.

The 4x100m relay team of Bently Pruitt, Dakota Gray, Autumn Lorenz, and Brecken Boudreaux placed eighth with a time of 50.90. The Burlington team won the championship at 48.19.

Other events and placings for the Beloit girls included:

Dakota Gray placed ninth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 47.99. Scarlet Ludwig placed 11th in the 300m hurdles in 48. 15. Ellie Strain of Wellsville earned the championship with a time of 45.98.

Autumn Lorenz placed 12th in the long jump at 16’ 1”.

The 4x400m relay team of Autumn Lorenz, Kat Gray, Ellie Olson and Scarlett Ludwig placed 11th with a time of 4:14.74. The Burlington team won the championship with a time of 4:04.15.
