Beloit Head Coach Keith Kresin said that getting short shots for his senior post players, Thompson and Budke, was a priority.

“Our game plan was to get the ball inside,” he said. “Cass and Addie both had big games.”

The coach praised his team’s opponents for their effort despite being outmatched.

“Give Lyons credit,” Kresin said. “They played hard the whole game.”

The coach was pleased with the intensity of his team’s defense.

“Our defensive pressure was good tonight,” Kresin said.

Kresin said he likes how his team is progressing as it approaches the Orange & Black tournament in late January.

“We got to get some momentum before the Colby tournament,” he said. “All the girls are working extremely hard to get better. They’re starting to believe in what we’re trying to get down.”

Cassandra Thompson led the Beloit ladies on the boards in double digits with 20 points followed by Addison Budke with 16 points. Olivia Wright scored 6 points; Autumn Lorenz, Samantha Thompson and Azlin Pfantz 2 points each; Emma Rice 1.
