Beloit Post 57 Musteez compete in Colby Round Robin

COLBY – The Beloit American Legion Post 57 Musteez baseball team competed in a Round Robin tournament with Colby, Smith Center and Cambridge, Nebraska, last weekend and went 1-2, along with Smith Center and Cambridge. Colby went undefeated at 3-0.

Beloit are now 5-5-1 and will now face Smith Center a second time on June 25 away. They will travel to play Clifton on July 2 for a double header. 

The Musteez lost 10-2 to Colby in their first game.

Colby scored 4-1 in the bottom of the first inning for the early lead. They added three runs in the second inning, for the 7-1 lead. Colby scored 3-1 in the third inning as the last scores and ended the game with the fifth inning 10-2 win.

Beloit vs Smith County Blue Raiders:

In game two of the Colby round robin, Beloit won over Smith Center, 7-6, as their only win.

Beloit led 1-0 after the bottom of the second inning, before Smith Center scored in four runs in the top of the third to Beloit’s one run, to take the 4-2 lead. They extended their lead 6-2 with two runs in the fourth inning. But Beloit came back and collected five runs in the fifth inning for the 7-6 seven inning win.

Beloit vs. Cambridge, Nebraska:

Beloit fell short to Cambridge, Nebraska, 6-4, to end 1-2 in the Colby round robin.

The game was tied up at 1-1 after the first inning. Beloit took the 4-1 lead after scoring in three runs in the bottom of the second inning. Cambridge scored in one run in the third inning as Beloit held the 4-2 lead. Cambridge bats then came alive with three runs in the fifth, and one in the sixth for the 6-4 seven inning win.
