Beloit Trojans baseball opens with Sacred Heart loss

SALINA – The Beloit Trojan’s baseball team opened their season on March 25, and lost to the Sacred Heart Knights, 12-2. This was the only game played due to inclement weather that passed through before they could finish a double header. The start the season at 0-1.

The Knights took on seven runs in the second inning to defeat Beloit. The Trojans were first to score in the second inning when Kanean Olson singled, scoring in the only two runs by Beloit.

Olson led Beloit Varsity Trojans with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Ashton Bletscher set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Beloit with three hits in four at bats.

Joel Rexroat took the loss for Beloit as the starting pitcher in two innings, surrendering seven runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out three and walking three.

Jackson Weston pitched three innings in relief for the Trojans, and surrendered four hits and five runs while, striking out two and walking six.
