KANSAS – Bike Across Kansas will take place June 7-14, 2025, with numerous bikes on the roads – so keep an eye out. Beloit will be a stop for the mighty travelers on Tuesday, June 10, as they make their way from Osborne to Mankato that day.
The event consists of a 475 mile mark up and down the roads, for these serious travelers, and they will be greeted by communities with breaks of food and beverages.
The event starts on Friday, June 6, with an early start for some, from the Colorado Border to St. Francis (14 miles). On Saturday, June 7, they will bike from St. Francis to Oberlin (70 miles); Sunday, June 8, Oberlin to Logan (64 miles); Monday, June 9, Logan to Osborne (65 miles); Tuesday, June 10, Osborne to Mankato (58 miles); Wednesday, June 11, Mankato to Washington (62 miles); Thursday, June 12, Washington to Sabetha (72 miles); Friday, June 13, Sabetha to Troy (56 miles); Saturday, June 14, Troy to Elwood (14 miles).
Beloit will be a lunch stop on Tuesday, June 10, on their way to camp out in Mankato, on their 58 mile day.
According to Mitchell County Tourism Director, Mandy Fincham, stops in Beloit will include:
– Taste Me Now (tacos) food truck at the Mitchell County Historical Museum (it will also be open for A/C and bathrooms)
– Beloit Student Council at the EMS parking lot with meat and cheese packs, protein balls and Gatorade
– USD 273 Foundation serving pulled pork sandwiches, watermelon, pie and other baked goods (Location TBA)
– Calvary Baptist Church will sell individual baked goods (Location TBA)
– Willow Springs Park Fundraiser will sell sandwich sack lunches at the Fort Hays Tech College (also to be open for A/C and bathrooms)
– Ice Bros snow cone truck will be located at the Little Red Schoolhouse roadside park
Restaurants on that corner have all been notified for a busy lunch that day as well.
The Ball of Twine in Cawker City will be a water stop on the way, as well as the Waconda Cultural Association Museum at the lake – open for water, A/C, bathrooms and tours.
