The resignation of Dwight Daniels as representative on the 12th Judicial Nominating Commission, was taken at the Mitchell County commissioners meeting on Monday, March 3, 2025. Daniels has decided to step aside and let someone from the next generation take over. He has served in this capacity far longer than any one present at the meeting could remember. Everyone wished Dwight good luck in his next adventures.

– The commissioners adjourned the regular meeting to conduct a 30 minute executive session to discuss non-elected personnel. When the business meeting was called back to order it was announced that no decisions were made as a result of the closed session.
– Courtney Murrow, Mitchell County Health Department Director and Shelby Bohnert, Executive Director of the Mitchell County Medical Foundation, were present to discuss grant applications and training coming up in the future.
Murrow reported that the concrete on the ADA parking lots was doing some flaking. John Brummer, the contractor that did the work examined the flaking and inspected the concrete work. He reported that the flaking of this nature is quite common. They will monitor the situation and take neccessary action when and if it is needed.
– Mr. Lamb, representing KCAMP, was present to update the commissioners on the status on how his agency can assist the county.
– Carol Torkelson, from the Regional Planning Commission, was present to update the commissioners, regarding the COVID gran money. The Dairy Queen will receive $10,360 for an HVAC unit and $7,997 for communication headsets.
Kettle will receive grant money in the amount of $4,018, for tables and chairs for their outdoor seating addition on the north side of their business.
– Mile Riemann was appointed the Cemetery Board.
– The drug testing vendors will meet with the commissioners.
Compliance One will be present on March 17 and Anytime Lab on March 24.
All commissioners and the county clerk were present during Monday’s meeting.
