Beloit High School is excited to announce that, pending board approval, Mike Doll, will be the new boys basketball coach at Beloit High school. Coach Doll has been the head coach at Goodland the past eight years. His wife Marissa and two sons will join him in Beloit.
“We’re excited to welcome the Doll family to the Trojan Family.”
Coach Doll said he and his family chose Beloit because it seems like a great community with great people and great schools. “We really enjoy the location of the town where we are closer to more opportunities but able to keep the small town feel,” said Coach Doll. “We are looking forward to just getting there and meeting people, meeting the athletes I get to coach, the students we get to teach and the community. From there I am excited to see the improvement that we can make on the court over the course of the summer. There will be some new aspects to what we do, but I know that we will make great strides and get better every day.”
Coach Doll was raised in Goodland and graduated from Goodland High School. He graduated college from Kansas Wesleyan.
“We have loved Goodland, and it was such a tough decision to leave,” Doll said. “We will miss my family in Goodland, the athletes I got to coach and the students that we were able to teach.”
Beloit finished their 2024-25 season as 3A Sub-State Runner-Ups with a 17-5 record.
Beloit have 1184 all-time wins, 6 state title appearances, 15 league titles, and 20 Sub-State Championships.
Coach Ryan Eilert has coached the Trojans for 17 years, leaving a legacy on the hardwood.
“I am really excited to have Coach Doll taking over Beloit High Basketball,” said Coach Ryan Eilert. “I have coached against him and watched his teams over the years and have a great amount of respect for how he runs his program and the success that he has had. It was a tough decision for me to step away but knowing our players will be led by a quality coach and person makes the decision a little easier.”
“I am excited to join a great program with a strong culture that has great athletes and have been well coached,” said Doll. “ I have crossed paths many times with Beloit in Orange and Black, State Tournaments and State Tournaments here over the previous few years, but haven’t really met on the court, but I have been impressed with many aspects of the program and the success they have sustained over many years.”
“We believe Coach Doll and his family will be a great fit for our school and community,” said USD 273 staff.
