Bingo in the Afternoon

BELOIT – The Beloit Senior Center, 220 N. Hersey, Beloit, will host Bingo in the Afternoon, from 2-4 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024. Seating is limited. Cost is free and donations are accepted. Food Commodities Distribution

BELOIT – Food Commodities Distribution at Heart Choices, Beloit, will be from 4-5 p.m. (or until supplies are gone), on Wednesday, Nov. 20. This is a first-come-first served basis and will take place at Heart Choices, located at 602 W. Sixth St., Beloit. Income verification will be self-certified. Only one distribution per address.

Please have space in your vehicle with a trunk or door open when it is your turn for pick up. We appreciate it if dogs or other animals are in vehicles that they be restrained during pick up. For more information, please call 785-748-3433.

American Legion Post 57 meeting

BELOIT – The Beloit American Legion Post 57 meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21, 2024, at the VFW Post 6242 in Beloit.

Three Hearts House/In Ipso to host free will meal BELOIT – The Three Hearts House/In Ipso, 304 E.

Main Street, Beloit, will host a Free-Will Meal, from 11 a.m. -12:30 p.m., on Thursday, Nov. 21. The meal will consist of a Pulled Pork Sandwich, Potato Salad, Baked Beans, Cookie and Water.

Chautauqua Isle of Lights to host tractor/trailer rides

BELOIT – Chautauqua Isle of Lights will host tractor/ trailer rides 6-9 p.m., on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 29 – 30. Pick-up and drop-off will be at the vacant lot, corner of Hersey and South streets.

BELOIT – Hosts for the Chautauqua Isle of Lights are needed for the dates of: Dec 20, 21, 24, 26-28, 30.

Hours are from 6-9 p.m., Sunday thru Thursday and 6 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday. Please contact Melissa at Bell Memorials, 785-738-2257.

November Food Pantry items needed

BELOIT – We are striving for healthier options for our clients, so low fat, low/no salt, unsweetened/low sugar content options, etc. are good selections. No expired food items or dented/damaged items can be accepted. Here are our most needed items in November: canned sweet potatoes, brownie mix, cranberry sauce, canned pumpkin, Jiffy pie crust mix, evaporated milk, cream of chicken soup, canned fruit, gravy mix, dried noodles and other types of dried pasta, stuffing mix, muffin mix, and rice. Please drop off your donations at Ray’s in the Food Pantry tub, the Port Library, or the Food Pantry on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 am or your local church. Please note: The Food Pantry will be closed the week of Thanksgiving.

Wellness Center offers free yoga classes BELOIT — The Wellness Center in Beloit at 3033 U.S. Highway 24, will offer a free Yoga class—Yogatober— at 5:30 p.m. on Mondays with Tara as well as Tuesdays and Thursdays with Mark. No guest fees.

Grief Recovery

BELOIT – GriefShare, a grief recovery seminar and support group meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the First Bank of Beloit meeting room, 101 E. Main (Use Mill St. entrance). The group will meet each Wednesday until Dec. 4 (except Thanksgiving week). GriefShare features nationally recognized experts on grief recovery topics. Seminar sessions include “Is This Normal?” “The Challenges of Grief,” “Grief and Your Relationships,” “Why?” and “Guilt and Anger.” GriefShare is a weekly video seminar combined with a small group discussion time and a workbook with daily exercises. Participants can attend as many sessions as they are able. Facilitators are Melinda Kimple, Tami Roberts, Sharon Keister and Deb Hadachek. GriefShare is a project of the Beloit Ministerial Association. There is no cost to participate.
