Harbaugh Scholarships awarded

BELOIT – USD 273 Endowment Association announces 26 Harbaugh Scholarships have been awarded to Mitchell County Students for the 2025-2026 school term. Students were selected for these scholarships from three categories which were: students enrolled in a one or two-year institution, those entering a four-year institution a freshman, and to students attending their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year at a 4-year college or university.

First created in 1983, over 979 scholarships totaling over $710,270.00 have been awarded. The Harbaugh Scholarship Fund was created by the late Eulalie Harbaugh in memory of her parents, George and Ella Longworth Harbaugh, early day Mitchell County citizens and Beloit, Kansas residents. The trust fund, managed by the USD 273 Endowment Association, continues to be funded by natural gas well revenues out of Southwest Kansas, and annual interest and dividend earned on investments.

The following are recipients of the 2025 Harbaugh Scholarships:

$5,000: Jane Letourneau

$4,500: Morgan Eberle, Olivia Wright & Leah Brummer

$4,000: Tatum Seyfert

$3,300: Carlie Brummer & Emma Jones

$2,600: Emma Mick, Bryce Beisner, Katie Brummer, Ashlyn Loomis & Kennedy Adams

$2,100: Addison Emmot, Jenna Gengler, Daniel Eilert & Joshua Towner

$2,000: Chance Jermark & Gracie Hicks

$1,800: Mason Thompson & Aubrey Gengler

$1,700: Jules Heiman

$1,400: Grady Seyfert

$1,300: Makenzie Travis, Alison Schroeder & Paige Hollerich

$900: Drake Thomspon
