BELOIT – During the month of February, the Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks visited Beloit Elementary School to offer 6th grade students a free Hunters Safety Education class. Fifty students opted in to taking the course this semester and are eagerly awaiting their final phase of training that will take place in late April. The course consisted of multiple in-school trainings that covered a wide range of topics including firearm safety, regulations, ethics, types of firearms and actions, types of ammunition, correct usage and several more items. This is Beloit's second year participating in the program.
