Lazy H Auto is now open

Posted

The opening of Lazy H Auto at the Lazy H LakeView property north of Glen Elder State Park has been announced. The Lazy H is located at 2174 Hwy 128 Glen Elder, Kansas. They are available by appointment 7 days a week for your convenience, at 785-545-4489.

The Lazy H is kicking off with offering a “Dirt Cheap” sale on much of their vehicle, camper and trailer inventory.  They are also offering an introductory offer on carports of 7 percent off the installed prices. Lazy H Auto offers financing and extended warranties on most of their inventory.  They have approximately 20 campers on closeout sale and still have “Big Al” as their buyer of quality like new vehicles.

Lazy H Auto was opened by Blake and Lydia Housh after the closure of Becker Autos & Trailers, Camper SuperCenter in Beloit. The supercenter was owned by Housh’s as well as Alvin and Debra Becker and was opened over 16 years in Beloit. A need for change, to downsize and the convenience of the lot at their residence, led to the closing of Becker Autos & Trailers and the opening of Lazy H Auto.

“We had a great run as Becker Autos & Trailers, Camper SuperCenter in Beloit as well as Becker Autos from its beginnings in Downs. We had a staff of 20 people, over 10 acres of inventory and over 140 campers, when we decided something had to change. We were running ourselves and our staff ragged. We needed to drastically increase our prices to cover the higher overhead, with the costs of goods sold and the increase in interest, and that wasn’t something we wanted to do. We decided it was time to close Becker Autos & Trailers’ SuperCenter location.

We knew that we still wanted to be able to sell vehicles and trailers, but on a smaller scale that didn’t require the manpower, inventory and expense it took to run a franchised camper dealership.

“I grew up at the Becker Autos car lot in Downs, right on property with my parents’ house,” said Lydia Housh. “I always thought it was nice to be able to just walk outside and be at work. There is a work-life balance that you must consider, and sometimes you have to take that time away.  But all in all, it is a great asset to be on location and more available for your customers.”

The Lazy H property also hosts 16 full hook-up and dump camper sites for yearly rental at the LakeView Campground as well as the Housh’s residence. It has two ponds on-site that are starting to refill after last year's drought and lower lake levels. The main building also has laundry access for its guests and will soon be able to accommodate apartment rentals.

“We really hope to have the support of our local area, just as we did as Becker Autos & Trailers. We know without you guys this won’t work out.  We make it our promise to offer you the best deals, upfront honesty and a laid-back experience when buying from Lazy H Auto. We can’t wait for you to come see us!” said Housh.
