BELOIT – After the Beloit High School Trojans ended their 2024 football season, Garry Lowry, was selected as the 2A Assistant Coach of the year at the Kansas Football Coaches Association (KFBCA). Lowry coordinated one of the top defenses in the state this fall.
“I have been around a lot of great coaches over the years and Coach Lowry is one of the best,” said Beloit High School Head Coach Brad Gober. “He loves the kids and gives everything he has for them. He watches hours and hours of film to get our defense ready each and every week. On top of all his administrative duties at the elementary school, I’m not sure what I would do without him on our staff. The old saying that the “head coach is only as good as his assistants” holds true for my ENTIRE staff. We are very lucky to have them all.
“I am truly honored to be the KFBCA 2A Assistant Football Coach of the Year and overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from everyone,” said Lowry. “I’m incredibly blessed to work with such an amazing group of young men—not only this year but throughout my entire career. A heartfelt thank you to Coach Gober for trusting me and giving me this opportunity. A big shoutout to the rest of the Trojan coaching staff—this wouldn’t be possible without each of you. Special thanks to Coach Harris (TEX) for setting an incredible example of what it means to be a great coordinator. To all the coaches who’ve guided and shaped me along the way—thank you. And to my wife Jess, your unwavering support and love make you the ultimate coach’s wife—I couldn’t do this without you. Finally, all glory goes to God and Jesus Christ, my Savior, for making this journey my ministry to serve and inspire young men. Thank you all for the encouragement and for being part of this journey.”
