BELOIT — Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems (MCHHS) welcomed the 2025 New Year’s Baby, Tyler Eugene, on Jan. 20. Delivered by Dr. Christine Marozas, Tyler weighed 6 lbs. 14 ounces and measured 20 inches long. He is the son of proud parents Brandie Poe and Casey Mendenhall.
To celebrate this joyous occasion, the Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation, alongside many generous community donors, presented Tyler and his family with a special array of gifts. This tradition highlights the community’s commitment to supporting families and celebrating new beginnings.
This year’s thoughtful contributions include a $300 Educational Savings Fund that will be put in Tyler’s name, Mom/Baby Journal, books, insulated cooler bag, newborn/size 1 Huggies diapers, blankets, clothes, toys, and more. The partners that contributed to making such a special gift include Beloit Medical Center, Mitchell County Health Department, Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems and Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation.
Over the years, the New Year’s Baby program has welcomed 14 families, offering meaningful gifts and support to celebrate their newest addition. This effort reflects a shared dedication to fostering a supportive environment for young families in North Central Kansas.
“This program is a reminder of the collective generosity within our community,” said Shelby Bohnert, Executive Director of the Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation. “It truly takes a village, and the gifts and support provided to each New Year’s baby’s family shows just how much this community values its newest members. We are grateful to all who contribute to making this tradition so meaningful.”
The Mitchell County Regional Medical Foundation looks forward to continuing this tradition for years to come. To learn more about the program or get involved, please contact the Foundation at (785) 738-9493 or email sbohnert@mitchellcountyrmf.org
