BELOIT – Sen. Moran was present at the Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems on Friday, Feb. 13, 2026 to announce 1.8 million federal support.

It was announced that the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office has $94,900 designated to them, with purposes for safety for their officers and well being of the community.
“In the last four years, we have returned to Kansas law enforcement, 47 and a half million dollars to 100 of 105 Kansas counties,” Moran said. “We are here to thank you and to what your department does and what you provide. We have great respect for you and want to fund law enforcement better.”
“We have a plan for this money we will receive, " said Sheriff Tony Perez. To PR systems and LPR systems. We appreciate this greatly and I also want to thank Garrett Matthews, our K-9 deputy, who applies for grants and to my whole staff as well.”
Moran announced that 1.714 million dollars will be received by the Mitchell County Hospital Health Systems.
“We are about healthcare needs in the absence of needed healthcare, to provide quality healthcare,” said Moran. “MCHHS has been recognized for good things recently and this congressionally designated spending will help as well.”
MCHHS CEO Janelle Kircher, thanked her board and the county commissioners for attending and talked about how this money will go towards their emergency services and emergency department to expand the footprint of that area with access to trauma care.”
The money will also help the rehabilitation services to move them from the basement after 30 years, to the ground level, during the hospital's 100th year birthday.
