BELOIT – Summer Kids Cafe will kick off their 12th year of serving food and fun on Monday, May 19, 2025. They provide a safe and healthy family environment and serve free lunch to children ages 0-18 at Luther Park at the corner of 7th and Bell every weekday during the summer, except for Memorial Day (May 26) and July 4. Activities are planned most every day – with some favorites including Bike Repair Day (May 22), Wet Wednesday, and Monday craft time. The popular speaker Trooper Ben will also be joining them on Thursday, May 29.
Last year, Kids Cafe served 10,523 meals in 61 days. They averaged 173 kids a day, having 300 kids on their largest day. This was by far their largest year…which is why they are in the process of doubling our current picnic shelter with the help of grants, donations, and fundraisers.
“We are able to provide this program to the community because of a dedicated board, selfless volunteers, generous donors, and some really amazing kids. We are completely community funded and volunteer run – no grants, no government funding…just donations of both money and time from businesses, groups, and community members. We want to thank every person in Beloit for supporting us, and we can't wait to see all the kids this year at Luther Park.”
