BELOIT – The Solomon Valley Community Foundation (SVCF) has awarded over $9,400 in scholarships to area students for the upcoming academic year. This includes six scholarships that are being renewed for recipients from previous years.
The Fine Arts Future Development Higher Education Scholarship is for seniors graduating from the Solomon Valley area, including Mitchell, Cloud, and Jewell Counties, who are pursuing a major in Instrumental Music or Art. Daegen DeGraff, Concordia, was the recipient of this scholarship.
The George Hoy Scholarship is for seniors graduating from Beloit High School or St. John’s Catholic High School in Beloit. Brooks Jones (BHS) and Jonas Letourneau (St. John’s), both of Beloit, each received this scholarship. The following students received a renewed scholarship: Addison Emmot, Beloit, Maria Mick, Beloit, Shelly Chen, Beloit, Jane Letourneau, Beloit, Emma Mick, Beloit, and Peyton Remus, Glen Elder.
The Tom Lynch Educational Scholarship is for graduates or graduating high school seniors from the following Kansas counties: Mitchell, Cloud, Jewell, Republic, Clay, Lincoln, Washington, and Ottawa who have enrolled full time at a college, university, community college, or vocational/technical school in Kansas or Nebraska. The following students received scholarships: Jolie Girard, Clyde, Bethany Demars, Glasco, Elisa Sorell, Clyde, and Victoria Reynolds, Jamestown.
