BELOIT – Beloit senior, Cassandra Thompson signed with the womens Kansas State University rowing team, on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at the Beloit High School gymnasium.
“I have always wanted to attend K-State and wanted to continue in sports as well,” said Cassandra.
Cassandra was contacted by K-State about the rowing sport her sophomore year. After visiting the team, she says she was very excited. “The players and the program are super.”
Cassandra is a big asset to the Beloit High School basketball team during this season.
“Coach Kresin keeps everyone in line, as we are team oriented, and helps us be the best version of ourselves,” said Cassandra. “Basketball and all of our sports have prepared me for the college level.”
As far as rowing goes, this will be a first for Cassandra.
“I like to try new things and to not look back and wish I had tried something. I don’t want to look back and say, I wish I would have tried this. This will be a learning experience, I won’t regret.”
Cassandra will major in Finance/Business.
