Posted

ENTERPRISE, formerly of Esbon– Todd was born November 9, 1971 in Paola, Kansas to Patrick and LeNeta (Hollern) Smith. Todd grew up in the Esbon, Kansas area attending school in Esbon and graduated from White Rock High School in Jewell County.  After graduation he attended one year of college at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE. Todd decided college was not his calling, he went to work on an ostrich farm in Pittsburg, Kansas.  While in Pittsburg, Todd found law enforcement interesting and attended Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Hutchinson, Kansas.  After graduation he went to work for the Crawford County Sheriff’s department as a deputy for 10 years.  In 2006, Todd moved to Wichita and was a carpenter for Eby Construction for 5 years.  At Eby, Todd met Marci  (Diehl) Roy and they married in 2010.  Todd loves children and being a stay-at-home dad was perfect for him.  After the birth of their twin sons Todd went back to work at Sam’s Club as a manager working nights, while Marci worked days.  In 2016 the family made the move to Dickinson County to be closer to family.  After some time Todd began driving a school bus for Chapman USD 473 which he continued into this year.
Todd enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family.  Camping at Milford Lake was a special time for him.  Watching his kids play sports was something he cherished.  Hunting coyotes and doves on the family pastures was great fun for him and the boys.  Todd enjoyed having fires in the fire-pit during the summer, while listening to music and teaching the kids to two step. Sometimes that was difficult due to the uneven ground and the beer he loved to drink.
Todd was proceeded in death by his father Patrick.  He is survived by his wife Marci, sons Matthew, Cooper, Carter, daughters Lilliann and Olivia, mother LeNeta Smith of Beloit, KS, siblings Patrick (Julie) Smith of Pittsburg, KS, Shannon (Steve) Williams of Maize, KS, Sharla (Mike) Broeckelman of Beloit, KS, Darren (Jan) Smith of Topeka, KS and Shelley (Stacy) Graff of Maize, KS, mother-in-law Karman Diehl and brother-in-law Michael (Afton) Diehl of Chapman, KS and many nephews and nieces.
