Anita Eilert, 93, Beloit

BELOIT – Anita Madeline Eilert was born July 26, 1928 to Ted and Catherine Brummer in Tipton, KS. She died Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Resident Care Center in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 93.

Her mother passed away when she was only three and she and her younger sister Bernese were raised by their grandparents, Henry and Madeline Schulte. She attended school and grew up in Tipton.

She married George Eilert September 6, 1949. Thirteen children were born to this union. They greatly enjoyed 67 years of marriage together until he died in August 2016.

She worked in the home preparing good home cooked meals and caring for her children. She was noted for her cooking and enjoyed doing it. She was a good homemaker and always had meals on time with everyone eating at the table together. Her specialty was pies and having some in the freezer for company was like gold.

After the kids grew up, she began working outside of the home, first for Marie Lewis cooking at the nursing home and later at the Beloit Youth Center in the kitchen for 16 ? years retiring in 1988.

Her hobbies were working with her flowers and embroidering and each child enjoyed a set of towels she embroidered for them each Christmas for many years. The highlight of her life was family and she took pride in getting them all together for the holidays.

Her Catholic faith was always important to her and she was a member of the Ladies Guild for many years.

In addition to her husband George, she was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Debbie; and her sister, Bernese Thorpe.

Anita is survived by children, Kathy (Dave) Scott of Glen Elder, Marlene Jaso of Louisville, KY, Darlene Fischer of Gardner, KS, Sondra (John) Richardson of Belleville, KS, Diane (Larry) Glauser of Glen Elder, Mary (John) Quinley of Salina, Joan (Bill) Meyensburg of Salina, Tim (Betty) Eilert of Beloit, Henry (Betty) Eilert of Concordia, Gary (Susan) Eilert of Beloit, Karen (Brad) Kesl of Hays, and Donna (Scott) Remus of Glen Elder; 26 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a host of many relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM Tuesday, October 19 at the St. John’ s Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 1 PM until the Rosary Service at 6:30 PM Monday at the Roberts Family Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Solomon Valley Hospice or the Church. Roberts Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
