Francis Eugene Krier, 73, Beloit, formerly Tipton

BELOIT, formerly Tipton – Francis Eugene Krier, 73, departed this life September 15th, 2023, at Mitchell County Hospital. He was born on May 12th, 1950, in Beloit KS to Lawrence and Caroline (Schmitt) Krier. Francis was raised on the family farm North of Tipton until the family moved into town in the early 60's. Francis graduated from Tipton High school in 1969 and furthered his education at Beloit Vo-Tech. Francis was employed for over 40 years as a Welder at Kent Manufacturing until he retired. He also served in the Army National Guard.

In his free time Francis enjoyed playing golf for many years and spent his weekends doing just that until his health started to deteriorate. In his younger years he also liked to go bowling and was a member of many bowling teams. As his health declined, watching sports became his pastime, especially KU, Chiefs, and Royals!!! When Francis could no longer be at home these last few years, he resided at Hilltop Nursing Home. Francis was a member of St. Boniface Church, and the Knights of Columbus Council #1645.

Francis is survived by his brothers, Dale (Bev) Krier of Weeping Water, NE, Stanley (Pam) Krier of Tipton, Nelson Krier of Tipton. Five Nephews & Nieces, eight great nieces & nephews. Along with many extended family members.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence & Caroline Krier & Sister Mary Ann Krier.

A rosary will be held Thursday, September 21st at 7p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial, Friday September 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, Tipton. Memorials may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church AC Fund or Tipton High School.
