Jamie L. Balluch, 43, Bruning, Neb.

Jamie Lee Balluch

BRUNING, NEB. - Jamie Lee Balluch was bom September 27, 1979, in Salma, Kansas, the son of Chris and Ila Balluch. He died unexpectedly in Bruning, Nebraska, at the age of 43.

Jamie was raised on a farm south of Beloit and worked on the Brockway family farm near Barnard for the majority of his childhood. He was a goat farmer, coon hunter, and leader of exploration around the hills of southern Mitchell County. His childhood adventures included wandering along the Salt Creek waiting for his grandpa to finish cutting wood, exploring the shelterbelts around the farm and just being an all-out rough country boy.

He graduated from Beloit High School in 1999 and completed his Diesel Mechanic Certificate from North Central Kansas Technical College in 2000. He loved bringing his friends out to the farm to be a part of the Balluch family. Taking on his first job off the farm, he worked for Foley Cat in Concordia. He returned to continue farming with his grandpa and uncle. He learned to be a man of many trades but loved doing dirt work most of all. He could be found on a dozer, scraper or road grader.

In 2004, he had his first daughter, Jenna Lee, and for the majority of her childhood they were inseparable. He later married Tara and their union brought three more daughters, Chloe Marie came in 2009, Chrissy Jolene in 2010 and Caity Lynn in 2014. There was no doubt that Jamie loved his girls. He showed his pride in his family with a tattoo of all four girls’ names displayed on his arm.

In 2017, Jamie left the farm to start a new adventure in Bruning, Nebraska. He first worked at Metal Tech in the small town and then began working at the Bruning Grain & Feed. No matter what job he was doing, Jamie was always proud of his work and most family visits would include showing them where he worked and what he did.

He will be remembered for his constant smile, ornery chuckle, “See ya in the morning” saying and what a strong, hard worker he was with his trusty pliers on his hip.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chris; grandpas Charles Brockway and Eddie Balluch; and daughter Caity.

He is survived by his daughters, Jenna Balluch of Glen Elder, Chloe and Chrissy Balluch of Sylvan Grove; mother Ila Balluch of Beloit; grandma Jolene Brockway of Barnard; grandma Dorothy Balluch of Ellsworth; sister Amber (Matt) Brawner of Haven; brother Michael (Brooke) Balluch of Dickinson, Texas; sister Jenica (Brett) Behymer of Glen Elder; and many nieces and nephews.
