Robert M. Koster, 90, Beloit

BELOIT – Robert M. Koster died Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Hilltop Lodge in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 90. He was born August 30, 1931 to Henry and Susan (Thomas) Koster at Cawker City, Kansas. He graduated from St. Theresa’ s in Cawker City.

Bob was inducted in the United States Army on May 23, 1951, and served with the 23rd Signal Construction Battalion in Korea. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal at Camp Carson, Colorado on April 30, 1953. He was a lifetime member of Beloit VFW Post #6242, and past member of the Cawker City American Legion Post #379, and was very active in both organizations. He retired from Richardson Manufacturing. Bob enjoyed riding his Harley, and parading his ’ 35 Chevy. He loved his family, especially being around his nieces and nephews. He was known as a generous, loving, and caring person that was always willing to help family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Marcella Hyde and husband Warren, and Janice Koster; brothers, Charles and wife Leona, Richard and wife Rosie, Harold, Jerome and wife Patricia, and Raymond; brother-in-law, Clifford Quenzer; sisters-in-law, Mary Koster and Martha Koster; nephews, Patrick Koster, Jerry Koster, Steve Lingg, and Tim Holman.

Bob is survived by his sisters, Dolores Quenzer and Marilyn Lingg and her husband Wayne; brothers, Cecil, and Henry and his wife Phyllis; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
